Bhubaneswar: Ahead of CM Naveen Patnaik’s Surat visit, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today urged him to implement Centre’s Ayushman Yojana for the benefit of the Odia labourers working in Gujarat and other States.
“Large number of Odias mostly from CM’s home district Ganjam are working in Surat. But the CM has remained firm on his stand and remained away from the central scheme due to his arrogant nature. He should leave arrogance and focus on the health care of the Odia diaspora in Gujarat”, Pradhan said.
In a series of tweets, Pradhan stated that the CM had never spared time for the Odia’s staying in Surat. But, as the election is round the corner, he took interest to visit the Gujarat state to attract the vote banks. He should leave such vote bank politics and follow the Gujarat model of PM Modi, Pradhan said.
Patnaik should find out the reason of unemployment in Odisha which forced the State people to migrate to other States, Pradhan said.
“Ahead of his visit, he shot off letter to Centre seeking direct train and flight to Surat. His move is politically motivated. People of his district have turned their attention to remove him from power,” Pradhan said.
Around 12 lakh Odia people from Ganjam are leaving in Surat. If CM implements the Ayushman scheme, people residing not only in Surat but in other cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru will get free treatment of complicated disease. “I request the CM to leave such cheap politics and focus on the greater interest of people”, Pradhan pointed out.
