Bhubaneswar/ Cuttack: Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal today hoisted the tricolor at the State-level Republic day celebration Bhubaneswar while chief minister Naveen Patnaik unfurled the national flag in Cuttack amid patriotic fervor and gaiety.
Explaining the success story of his government in his Republic day address, the chief minister said the State has developed in every aspect. Every hand from students, youths, women, farmers, labourers have contributed to the development, he added while giving the example of Guripriya bridge in a Maoist-hit area, Biju Expressway and new medical colleges.
“I am delighted 96 lakh families have been benefited from the electricity connection as it reached all villages across the State. The government successfully connected 8 lakh hectares of land with irrigation facilities and additional 10 lakh hectares will be irrigated soon,” said Patnaik in his address.
Appreciating recently launched KALIA scheme, he stated that the programme has been praised by agricultural experts in the country. Over 12 lakh farmers in Odisha have been benefited under the KALIA scheme.
“I believe that KALIA scheme will bring a new revolution. I urge people of State to be part and partners of the development journey and assist the government in its mission for the formation of a new Odisha,” Patnaik added.
Elaborate security arrangements were put in place for State-level celebration in Capital city. 54 contingents, 10 Tableaus and other cultural programmes were organised during the State-level parade held in Bhubaneswar.
