A heart-wrenching incident has unfolded in Odisha's Bhitarkanika National Park, where Anjana Mirdha and her son Ratindra Mirdha from Debendra Narayanpur village have been missing for six days.
The duo ventured into the dense forest to catch crabs in the Bhitarkanika river, approximately 8-10 kilometers deep, and haven't returned.
10 teams are actively searching the area, with plans to expand coverage.
Talachua Marine Station's drone camera is aiding the search.
Family members and villagers are joining forces to comb through the forest.
However, the authorities suspect that mother-son duo might have fallen victim to a crocodile attack, given Bhitarkanika's habitat.
Forest officials confirm efforts will continue until the duo is traced.
