A shocking incident unfolded late last night on National Highway 60 near Jamalpur Bypass, where a youth from Banida village was viciously attacked, robbed, and left fighting for his life.
The victim, whose identity hasn't been disclosed, was returning home after work when miscreants targeted him.
The youth was shot and robbed of money and mobile phones by the assailants.
He sustained severe injuries on his head and hand.
Locals rushed him to Jalasar Community Health Center, and he was later shifted to Balasore District Head Quarters Hospital.
On being informed, Jaleswar Police Station has registered a case and is actively investigating the incident.
Authorities are working to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
The incident has raised concerns about safety on national highways in the region.
