The price of gold has surged significantly, causing concern among consumers, particularly during the wedding season. Just a few days ago, 10 grams of gold were valued at Rs 80,000, but now the price has skyrocketed to Rs 85,000, with predictions that it will soon touch the lakh mark.
In Bhubaneswar, the prices of 22-carat and 24-carat gold per 10 grams have increased by Rs 1,050 and Rs 1,150, respectively. The current prices stand at Rs 78,100 for 22-carat gold and Rs 85,200 for 24-carat gold per 10 grams.
This significant rise in gold prices is attributed to geopolitical tensions and uncertainties, which have led to a surge in gold's value. Consumers are feeling the pinch, with gold becoming more expensive by over Rs 6,000 in the New Year alone.
