As citizens grapple with fuel supply concerns, unscrupulous traders are attempting to profit from the panic. Acting on the orders of the Jharsuguda District Magistrate, the Supply Department launched a targeted raid on Sahu Gas Service at Behramal Chowk to crack down on illegal black marketing.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 92 gas cylinders, including both domestic and commercial units. Authorities confirmed that 28 of the seized tanks were fully filled and ready for illicit sale.
The Supply Department has taken full custody of the stock and is investigating the scale of the hoarding operation.
This crackdown serves as a stern warning to traders exploiting market volatility.
Local officials have signaled that surveillance will intensify to ensure essential fuel supplies reach households rather than the black market.
