All airports across India have been put on high alert due to a potential terror threat from September 22 to October 2, 2025. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, issued this notification on August 4.
Key Security Measures Implemented
- Enhanced Surveillance: Continuous patrolling and surveillance of airport terminals, parking, perimeter zones, and sensitive areas.
- CCTV Monitoring: All CCTV systems to be kept on non-stop active mode with immediate checks on suspicious activity or objects.
- ID Verification: Strict identity verification for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Collaboration: Enhanced coordination with local police, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Intelligence Bureau (IB), and other agencies.
- Passenger Awareness: Passengers encouraged to report any suspicious objects or activities.
The BCAS advisory is based on inputs from the central security agency regarding a possible threat from terrorists or anti-social elements, reportedly linked to a Pakistani terror group.
