India is celebrating its 79th Independence Day today, August 15, 2025, with a festive atmosphere across the country. The tricolor is flying high in every village and city, marking a day of pride and glory for all Indians.


Key Highlights of the Celebrations

Celebration In Bhubaneswar:  Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will lead the state-level ceremony at Gandhimarg, with 49 contingents participating in the parade, including students from various schools and a platoon from Andhra Pradesh Police.

- Parade Commandant: IPS Ananya Awasthi of the 2022 batch will lead the parade.

- National Celebrations: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag at the iconic Red Fort in Delhi, with the theme "Naya Bharat" symbolizing India's vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.


Reportedly, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi leads state-level celebrations in Bhubaneswar.

Meanwhile Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo hoists flag in Keonjhar and Parvathi Parida hoists flag in Cuttack.


The celebrations honor India's journey to freedom from British rule in 1947 and remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters.
