The University of Education and Research (SOA) in Bhubaneswar marked National Sports Day with a two-day celebration, honoring the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. The event featured various sports competitions for employees and children.
Competitions and Winners
- Children's Competitions: Events like balloon racing and object putting were held, with P. Tejaswini winning first place in both competitions.
- Women's Competitions: Lemon and spoon races were organized for women faculties and employees, with winners including Supriya Sahu and Urvashi Mallick.
- Mini Marathon: Satya Ranjan Sahu of IVSHA won first place, followed by Ayan Banerjee of SPS and Ayushman Sahu of IHSE.
- Box Cricket: Sam Pharmacy emerged as the winner, with ITER as the runner-up.
Professor Ayash Kant Mohanty, Dean of the Institution of Business and Computer Studies (IBCS), emphasized the importance of sports for health and well-being. He congratulated the winners and encouraged participants to continue promoting sports and fitness.
