A SpiceJet flight from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport to Mumbai was diverted back to Delhi on Monday after two women passengers became unruly and attempted to forcefully enter the cockpit. The incident occurred on flight SG 9282, which was scheduled to depart at 12:30 pm but ultimately took off at 7:21 pm, resulting in a delay of nearly seven hours.

Reportedly, the two women passengers started fighting while the plane was taxiing for takeoff, causing a disruption onboard.

Despite repeated requests from the cabin crew, fellow passengers, and the captain, the women refused to return to their seats and attempted to approach the cockpit.

The captain decided to return the aircraft to the bay to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew members.

Later, the two women passengers were offloaded and handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at Delhi airport.

The plane then resumed its flight to Mumbai, landing at 9:05 pm.

A SpiceJet spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating that the safety of passengers and crew is the top priority.
