President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Bhubaneswar today, marking the beginning of her two-day visit to Odisha. She was warmly welcomed at the Bhubaneswar airport and proceeded to AIIMS, where she participated in the institution's fifth convocation ceremony.
Key Highlights of the Visit:
- Convocation Ceremony: The President awarded degree certificates to 643 students of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, recognizing their academic achievements in the field of medicine.
- Distinguished Guests: The ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and State Health Minister.
- Future Plans: After spending the night at Raj Bhavan, the President will attend the 13th annual convocation of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack tomorrow. She will also lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of three buildings of Ravenshaw Girls' High School, highlighting her commitment to girls' education.
- Cultural Engagement: In the afternoon, President Murmu will participate in the birth anniversary celebration of Adikabi Sarala Das and present the Kalinga Ratna Award-2024 at Cuttack's Sarala Bhavan.
- Security Arrangements: Over 70 platoons of police force have been deployed to ensure the President's security during her visit.
