In a significant move to ensure more farmers in Odisha can register for the Kharif paddy procurement, the State Cooperative Department has decided to allow farmer registrations on holidays and Sundays. Registrations will be accepted from 8 am to 8 pm.
Key Details of the Decision
- Registration Period: The registration process started on July 19 and will end on August 20.
- Purpose: This decision was taken because many farmers in the state had not yet registered.
- Registration Locations: Farmers can register at the nearest Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS), Large Area Multi-Purpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPS), Women Self-Help Groups (WSHGs), and Pani Panchayats.

- Farmers need to register to participate in the Kharif season paddy procurement.
- As of August 1, 395,949 farmers had already registered compared to 387,104 registrations on the same date last year.
