The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is reeling from internal strife following the expulsion of senior leader Parvata Biswal. The disciplinary action came shortly after Biswal publicly criticized party leadership regarding the recent Rajya Sabha candidate selections—Santrapta Mishra and Dr. Dateswar Hota.
The expulsion has ignited a bitter feud between Biswal and MP Debashis Samantraya. Biswal, responding to Samantraya’s criticism, launched a scathing attack, accusing the MP of prioritizing business interests and alleging involvement in chit fund corruption. "Debashis has become a goon busy collecting donations," Biswal alleged, vehemently denying any wrongdoing himself.
Biswal also pointed fingers at those surrounding party supremo Naveen Patnaik, citing the influence of key aides in party decisions.
While denying personal animosity toward Mishra, Biswal claims his expulsion was unjust. As this public war of words escalates, the incident raises questions about the growing friction within BJD’s internal ranks.
