The pulling of chariot rituals in Puiri began as Lord Balabhadra’s Taladhwaja rolled on the Grand Road with sea of devotees pulling it amid religious fervour.
The pulling of chariot rituals began after the completion of the rituals of Charamalaphita, installation of Ghoda, Sarathi to their respective chariots of the divine siblings.
Prior to the Charamalaphita the Chhera Pahanra ritual was performed by erstwhile King of Puri, Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb.
The Darpadalana chariot of Devi Subhadra will follow the Taladhwaja chariot and finally Lord Jagannath’s chariot Nandighosha will be pulled.
All the three chariots will be pulled until they reach the Gundicha Temple.
