The Rath Yatra festivities are underway, with the three majestic chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra making their way to the Gundicha Temple, affectionately known as the "aunt's house." The chariots are being pulled by lakhs of devotees, who are filled with devotion and enthusiasm.


The Chariot Procession

- Order of Chariots: The chariot of Lord Balabhadra, known as Taladhwaja, led the procession, followed by the chariot of Devi Subhadra, known as Darpadalana, and finally, the chariot of Lord Jagannath, known as Nandighosa.

- Devotees' Participation: Thousands of devotees are participating in the chariot-pulling ritual, chanting "Haribol" and "Jai Jagannath" as they move towards the Gundicha Temple.

- Spiritual Significance: The Rath Yatra is a celebration of the divine union of love and devotion, showcasing the profound cultural and spiritual heritage of Odisha.


Rituals and Ceremonies

- Gajapati Maharaj's Rituals: The Gajapati Maharaj, the king of Puri, performed the traditional rituals, including the "Chhera Pahanra" ceremony, sweeping the chariots with a golden broom.

- Chariot Decorations: The chariots are beautifully decorated with intricate designs and colors, adding to the festive atmosphere.
