Renowned poet, dialogue writer, and lyricist Javed Akhtar will be conferred with the SOA Literary Award 2025 for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema and literature. The award will be presented at the inaugural function of the third SOA Literary Festival at SOA University on November 29.
Akhtar, a Padma Bhushan awardee, has been recognized for his exceptional work as a lyricist, poet, and thinker. He has won numerous awards, including five National Film Awards and 15 Filmfare Awards. His poetry collections 'Tarkash' and 'Lava' are considered classics in modern Hindi literature.
Akhtar will receive a prize money of Rs 7 lakh, a citation, a silver statue of Goddess Saraswati, and a citation. The SOA Literary Festival, themed 'Culture, Creativity and Artificial Intelligence', will feature over 100 distinguished writers, poets, and thinkers, with 30 sessions organized during the two-day event.
