The Lord Jagannath Temple is gearing up to celebrate the birth of Lord Nursingha with great fervor and tradition. According to the Skanda Purana, Lord Jagannath is considered an incarnation, and many birth rituals are performed in the temple following mythological guidelines.
- Chariot Construction: The chariot for Lord Nursingha Dev will be built in the threshing floor, with Rupkar Sevak joining the construction work and preparing the Guj.
- Blessings and Puja: Lord Nursingha Dev will receive blessings and be carried on a chariot in the open mandap. Puja Panda Sevak will take blessings from the Thakur and offer them to Chakra Narayana.
- Special Rituals: Markandeshwar Sahiyas will join the rituals of the Thakur, and Bhoisevaks will dig Yanta Gad at the corners of the chariot as a protective shield.
The temple will witness a festive atmosphere as Lord Nursingha Dev travels to Jagannath Ballav Math, where rituals of Bhog and Vandapa will be observed before returning to the temple. The celebrations will showcase the rich traditions and cultural heritage of the Lord Jagannath Temple.
