A tragic incident marred the Bahuda Yatra celebrations in Odisha's Subarnapur district when a minor boy died after being crushed under a chariot during the festivities on Sunday. The incident occurred in the Binika area, where four minors were injured when the chariot of Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra was being pulled.
According to sources, the minors were crushed under the chariot's wheels when a stampede-like situation erupted while the Taladhwaja and Darpadalana chariots were being pulled.
The injured were rushed to the Binika Community Health Centre, with one minor being shifted to Burla's VIMSAR hospital due to serious injuries, who later succumbed to his injuries.
The local authorities promptly responded to the incident, providing medical assistance to the injured.
On being informed, the police ensured swift action, which helped prevent further casualties.
