The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has removed all references to the Mughals and Delhi Sultanate from its new Class 7 textbooks. The revised curriculum focuses on Indian dynasties, sacred geography, and government initiatives like 'Make in India' and 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao'.

The changes are part of the new National Education Policy (NEP) and National Curriculum Framework (NCFSE) 2023, aiming to provide students with a deeper understanding of Indian traditions, philosophies, and knowledge systems.

The new textbook, "Exploring Society: India and Beyond," includes chapters on ancient Indian dynasties like Magadha, Maurya, Sunga, and Satavahana, as well as sacred geography, highlighting Indian religious sites.
