The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation (OMFED) has increased the price of its milk variants by Rs 2 per liter, effective recently. Here's a breakdown of the new prices:
- Toned Milk: Now costs Rs 50 per liter, up from Rs 46 per liter previously.
- Premium Milk: Priced at Rs 54 per liter, marking a Rs 2 increase.
- Gold Milk: Costs Rs 56 per liter, reflecting a Rs 4 hike from the previous price of Rs 52 per liter.
- Gold Premium+ Milk: Now priced at Rs 60 per liter.
Reasons Behind the Price Hike
The price increase is attributed to rising input costs, including fodder, medicine, and fuel. The state government will bear Rs 2 of the price hike, while consumers will pay the remaining amount.
