Odisha government has launched a new uniform design for the secondary school students in government and aided schools under Mukhyamantri Chhatra Chhatri Paridhan Yojana.
Informing about the finalization of the uniform design, the School and Mass Education Department in a letter asked the director of secondary education to take necessary steps at his end.
As per changes to the dress code and designs of the uniforms, the boys will wear checkered light brown shirts and maroon pants while girls will wear checkered kurta with maroon jacket and salwar.
In 2023, the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government introduced green colour uniforms for the high school students, inviting criticism from every quarters as the green colour is associated with the party Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
