The Odisha government has announced that the Subhadra portal will reopen after August 9, allowing young women who have turned 21 to apply for the scheme. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida made this announcement, highlighting the government's efforts to widen the reach of the Subhadra Yojana, a flagship women empowerment initiative.
The Subhadra portal will reopen after the third installment is disbursed on Raksha Bandhan (August 9).
Women aged 21 and above can apply for the scheme once the portal reopens.
A new survey will be conducted to reconnect with approximately 2 lakh women who were previously excluded due to eligibility constraints, such as owning vehicles or more than 5 acres of land.
Around 93,000 women who have reached the age of 60 will be referred to the Social Security Department for allowances and won't need to reapply.
The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to women aged 21-60 years, promoting their economic empowerment and inclusion.
Eligible women receive ₹50,000 over 5 years, disbursed in installments of ₹10,000 per year.
