A shocking incident has unfolded in Kanikapada under the Mangalpura police station in Jajpur district, where a family dispute over a daughter's love marriage has allegedly led to a poisoning incident. Six family members, including a baby, are fighting for their lives at Jajpur Main Hospital after consuming poisoned food.
The daughter, who had eloped with her lover six months ago against her family's wishes, had recently returned home with her husband after a compromise was brokered by her uncles.
However, the tension between the daughter and her family, particularly her father, continued, with frequent quarrels over the marriage.
It is alleged that following a heated argument, the daughter mixed poison in food and fed it to her family members, leading to their critical condition.
The six family members are undergoing treatment at Jajpur Main Hospital, with their condition reportedly critical.
