Senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Shrimayee Mishra has been suspended from the party after she opened fire against the party leadership. In a strongly-worded social media post, Shrimayee expressed her disappointment with the party's handling of her concerns and accused leaders Pramila Mallick and Snehangini Chhuria of hypocrisy.


Disappointment with Party Leadership

- Naveen Patnaik's Silence: Shrimayee expressed her disappointment with BJD chief Naveen Patnaik's silence on issues affecting her, saying she considered him like a father and expected support and justice from him.

- Lack of Support: She alleged that despite repeatedly raising concerns about her self-respect and dignity since February 2024, she received no support from the party leadership.


Allegations Against Party Leaders

- Pramila Mallick and Snehangini Chhuria: Shrimayee accused these leaders of taking U-turns in their statements about her and prioritizing their own interests over party unity.

- Surpankha Remark: She also raised the issue of Naveen Patnaik referring to her as "Surpankha" and criticized the party's female leaders for remaining silent on the matter.


Questions Raised

- Appointment to Shailabala Women's College: Shrimayee questioned the appointment of an unqualified person from western Odisha as the president of Shailabala Women's College in Cuttack, leaving the assessment to the people of the state.
