BJP spokesperson Biranchi Tripathi has criticized Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Congress for allegedly competing to be the main opposition party in Odisha. Tripathi stated that BJP has won the trust of the people of Odisha and advised both parties to pursue their claims of election discrepancies through the judicial process.
- Allegations of Slow Response: Tripathi compared BJD's situation to that of dinosaurs, saying BJD took six and a half months to approach the Election Commissioner after the June elections and another eight and a half months to inform the public about the Election Commissioner's response.
- Request for Evidence: Tripathi emphasized that if BJD and Congress have concrete evidence of election irregularities, they should go to court. He noted that the Election Commissioner asked Congress to provide evidence, but they haven't.
- BJD's Move to High Court: Meanwhile, BJD has announced plans to move the Orissa High Court over alleged vote discrepancies in the 2024 assembly and Lok Sabha polls. BJD spokesperson Amar Patnaik stated that despite submitting evidence to the Election Commission of India, they haven't received a satisfactory response.
Tripathi urged BJD and Congress not to insult Odia voters by making false allegations.
