The Bahuda Yatra, marking the return journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra from the Gundicha Temple to the Srimandir, has commenced today. Thousands of devotees have gathered in Puri to witness this grand celebration.
Rituals and Processions:
- Mangala Alati: Started at 4:00 AM, followed by Mailama, Tadapa Lagi, Abakasha, Surya Puja, and other rituals.
- Pahandi Rituals: Began with Chakraraja Sudarshan, followed by Badathakura Balabhadra, Mother Subhadra, and finally, Mahaprabhu Sri Jagannath.
- Chariot Pulling: Started with the Taladhwaja chariot of Balabhadra, followed by the Darpadalana chariot of Mother Subhadra, and finally, the Nandighosha chariot of Mahaprabhu.
Preparations and Arrangements:
- Security: Over 205 police platoons and senior officers are overseeing security, with CCTV surveillance and emergency health camps in place.
- Crowd Control: Devotees are flocking to Puri in large numbers, with extensive security measures in place to ensure a smooth and safe experience.
Poda Pitha Ceremony:
- Mausi Maa Temple: The three chariots will assemble near the Mausi Maa temple for the Pod Pitha Bhog ceremony, where "Aunty Mother" serves pod pitha to the deities.
