In a shocking security breach, a youth was abducted in broad daylight directly in front of the Maitri Vihar Police Station. The kidnappers reportedly intercepted the victim—a driver by profession—while posing as members of the Commissionerate Police Special Squad.
The victim was forcibly taken to a secluded location, where he was locked up and beaten. The miscreants robbed him of his car, mobile phone, and ₹85,000 cash. In a daring escape, the youth managed to flee after tricking his captors into letting him use the bathroom.
Preliminary investigations suggest the crime was fueled by previous enmity related to a car-trading dispute. The victim has since filed a formal complaint naming several suspects.
While the police have launched a probe, the incident has raised serious questions about public safety when crimes are committed right under the nose of law enforcement.
