Nabarangpur Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Udayan Subudhi has suspended Bipin Kumar Harijan, Forester of the Maidalpur Section under the Dabugaon Range, on charges of unauthorized tree felling and financial irregularities.
The disciplinary action stems from allegations that while posted in the Jharigaon Mohara Section, Harijan illegally felled Eucalyptus trees along the Deobandh-Jamadarpara road. A subsequent inquiry also uncovered financial discrepancies.
Following these findings, the department issued a show-cause notice to Harijan on August 1. Because his response was deemed unsatisfactory, authorities placed him under immediate suspension under the Odisha Civil Services (CCA) Rules, 1962. During his suspension, his official headquarters will remain at the Nabarangpur DFO office.
