Amid heavy rain warnings from an intensifying deep depression over the Bay of Bengal, the Gajapati district administration has ordered the closure of all schools and Anganwadi centers from tomorrow until September 24.
While the system poses no cyclone threat, heavy downpours are expected across 11 districts. To ensure disaster readiness, the District Collector has banned all local officials and staff from leaving their headquarters.
Authorities have been directed to maintain strict vigilance over vulnerable, landslide-prone zones and take swift precautionary measures to prevent untoward incidents.
