A tragic elevator failure at a crockery factory in Samapur Badali has claimed the lives of two workers, Hari Om (32) and Sanjay Mishra (45). The incident occurred on the evening of January 14 at Neha Enterprises.
According to DCP Hareshwar V. Swami, the workers were traveling between floors when the lift cable snapped, causing the carriage to plummet. Both men sustained fatal internal injuries and were declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.
The Outer North District Police have sealed the premises and registered a case of death due to negligence. Investigators are currently questioning the management to determine if the equipment had undergone proper maintenance.
A technical expert has been summoned to pinpoint the exact cause of the mechanical failure. As the investigation continues, the local community remains in shock over the avoidable tragedy.
