Tragedy struck National Highway 16 near Asura Chack in Bhadrak district after a horrific series of collisions involving four vehicles. The pile-up, which occurred during a busy transit period, involved a passenger bus traveling from Balasore to Bhubaneswar, a truck, a mini-truck, and a pickup van.
The impact was fatal for the pickup van driver, who died on the spot. Additionally, four bus passengers sustained serious injuries. Local residents and police acted swiftly to rescue the trapped victims, rushing them to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment.
Authorities arrived shortly after to clear the wreckage and restore the flow of traffic on the highway.
