Bhubaneswar: Ration card holders across 19 districts of the state are set to receive an additional 5 kg of rice for the months of September, October, and November, a move expected to benefit a staggering 2.40 crore beneficiaries.
The state's Supplies Department has penned a letter to the District Collectors of the concerned districts, instructing them to ensure the swift and complete distribution of this supplementary rice quota.
The beneficiaries are drawn from both the National Food Security Scheme and the State Food Security Scheme.
The districts included in this special distribution drive are: Angul, Balasore, Bargarh, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Khordha, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Puri, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh.
