The body of a young woman, identified as Shivani Malik from Jagatpur Adein Sahi, was recovered this morning, day after she went missing after jumping from the Jobra Barrage into the Mahanadi River last Thursday.
The body was spotted floating near the Shishuya Barrage of the Chitrotpala River on Friday morning, prompting locals to inform the police. Authorities arrived at the scene and seized the remains, confirming the identity as Shivani Malik.
The reasons behind the young woman taking this drastic step remain unknown and are under investigation. Extensive search operations had been conducted immediately following the incident last week.
