A Cuttack court has delivered a landmark verdict in the sensational death of popular Odia actress Laxmipriya Behera, better known as Nikita. The Third ADJ Court sentenced her husband, Lipan Sahu, to life imprisonment and imposed a ₹20,000 fine for her murder. Meanwhile, his parents were acquitted of domestic violence charges.
The tragedy dates back to January 4, 2019, when the ACP Nikita star fell from the terrace of a Mahanadi Vihar apartment following a heated argument. While Lipan claimed it was an accident, Nikita’s parents alleged he pushed her over dowry demands.
