Residents of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack received a minor reprieve as petrol and diesel prices saw a slight downward revision today. While the reduction is modest, it offers a flicker of relief to consumers navigating high fuel costs.

In the capital, Bhubaneswar, petrol dropped by 0.22 paise to ₹100.97 per liter, with diesel also falling by 0.22 paise to ₹92.55. Meanwhile, Cuttack saw a decrease of 0.13 paise for petrol (₹101.19) and 0.11 paise for diesel (₹92.77).

National Comparison:

Delhi: ₹94.77 (Petrol)

Chennai: ₹100.80 (Petrol)

Kolkata: ₹105.41 (Petrol)

Despite the dip, prices in Odisha’s twin cities remain stubbornly above the ₹100 mark. While this minor adjustment won't significantly alter daily budgets, experts suggest that further drops will depend heavily on international crude fluctuations and evolving tax policies.

For now, the public remains hopeful for a more substantial cooling of prices in the near future.
