A catastrophic fire tore through Chhatrapada village in Tihidi Block late last night, reducing a 10-room residential complex to ashes. The inferno, which impacted seven families, resulted in a harrowing loss of life for over 100 goats and 10 cows, who were trapped and burnt alive.
Beyond the livestock tragedy, the blaze destroyed more than 100 bags of paddy and household property valued at lakhs of rupees. Local fire brigades rushed to the scene in Narendrapur Panchayat to battle the flames, eventually bringing the fire under control.
While the exact cause of the spark remains unknown, the sheer scale of the destruction has left the local community in deep shock.
Emergency relief is expected for the affected families who have lost their homes and livelihoods in a single night.
