The Odia film industry is in mourning following the demise of veteran producer and visionary educationist Ravi Swain. Born on June 13, 1951, in Puri, Swain passed away at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar after a prolonged battle with liver cirrhosis.


A titan of the industry, Swain was the force behind iconic hits such as Jor Jaar Mulak Tar, Ki Heba Suaa Posile, and Udandi Sita. Beyond the silver screen, he was a dedicated philanthropist and educationist, founding the Kshetra Mohan Memorial Trust and institutions like Om Shanti +2 Science College, significantly impacting the Pipili region.


Prominent artists and filmmakers have described his passing as an "irreparable loss" to the state's cultural and academic landscape. Ravi Swain leaves behind a legacy of cinematic excellence and a profound commitment to empowering the next generation through education.
