The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall in Odisha for the next three days, with the rain expected to continue until July 7. A cyclonic low-pressure area over North Gangetic West Bengal is moving southwards, contributing to the heavy rainfall.
Districts Under Warning:
- Orange Warning: Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Bargarh districts are under an orange warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall with thunderstorms in the next 24 hours.
- Yellow Warning: Several districts, including Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Balangir, Boudh, and Sonepur, are under a yellow warning for heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning.
Weather Forecast:
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in the state for the next five days, impacting festivals like Suna Besha, Adhar Pana, and Niladri Bij.
- Thunderstorms and lightning are predicted in most districts, with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph.
- The IMD forecasts a decrease in rainfall intensity from July 7 onwards.
Temperature and Humidity:
- Daytime temperatures are expected to range from 85°F to 86°F, while nighttime temperatures will be around 80°F to 81°F.
- Humidity levels will remain high, around 84-88%.
