Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi distributed the third installment of the Subhadra scheme in Jaipur, Koraput district, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The scheme's third installment was credited to the bank accounts of over one crore women beneficiaries across the state, totaling ₹5,000 crore.


Key Highlights of the Event

- Raksha Bandhan Celebration: The event began with Deputy Chief Minister Parvathy Parida tying a rakhi to Chief Minister Majhi, followed by other women employees and students tying rakhis to other dignitaries.

- Subhadra Scheme Distribution: The third installment of ₹5,000 each was transferred to over one crore beneficiaries via Direct Benefit Transfer.

- Development Announcements: Chief Minister Majhi announced the launch of a Vande Bharat Express between Jeypore and Bhubaneswar, revival of the Jeypore Paper Mill, and establishment of a new college in Jeypore.


About Subhadra Scheme

The Subhadra scheme aims to empower women economically by providing ₹50,000 over five years to eligible women aged 21-60 years. The amount is disbursed in two installments annually - on Rakhi Purnima and International Women's Day.
