Odisha Government Effects Major IPS Reshuffle

The Odisha government has carried out a significant reshuffle in the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre, appointing new officers to key positions. According to a notification issued by the state Home Department on Wednesday, several senior IPS officers have been transferred and posted to new roles with immediate effect.


Key Appointments:


- Sanjeeb Panda: Appointed as Additional Director General (ADG) of Anti-Naxal Operations, overseeing both Special Intelligence Wing (SIW) and Anti-Naxal Operations, reporting directly to the Director General and Inspector General of Police, Odisha.

- Akhileshvar Singh: Transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Special Intelligence Wing (SIW), Bhubaneswar.

- Kanwar Vishal Singh: Appointed as DIG of Police, South-Western Range (SWR), Koraput, in a corresponding swap with Akhileshvar Singh.

- Anup Kumar Sahoo: Continues as Director of Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA) until further orders, in addition to his role as IGP, Training.


These transfers and postings aim to strengthen internal security operations and enhance administrative efficiency, particularly in regions affected by left-wing extremism.
