A government high school clerk, Ramesh Chandra Raut, has been arrested and sent to jail following allegations of misconduct with a Class 8 student in the Kendrapara Sadar police station area.
The incident occurred on the evening of the 15th while the victim was returning home from tuition. According to the complaint, Raut intercepted and misbehaved with the student, sparking an argument. Authorities noted that two similar complaints of misconduct had previously been lodged against the accused.
Following a formal complaint, the Kendrapara Sadar police swiftly arrested Raut under the stringent POCSO Act, drawing widespread condemnation from the local community over student safety.
