Stressing that safeguarding women and children is a paramount duty, Odisha DGP Binayotosh Mishra called for enhanced public trust through professionalism, sensitivity, and courteous conduct.
Attending as chief guest at the passing-out parade of the fifth batch of trainee constables at the Basic Training Institute (BTI) in Burla, Sambalpur district, the DGP reviewed the parade and congratulated the 1,027 graduating recruits. Notably, these trainees gained valuable field experience by managing security for major events, including the Puri Rath Yatra, presidential and ministerial visits, and festive celebrations across the state.
The DGP lauded the academy's rigorous training and urged the new constables to face future challenges courageously while maintaining a friendly, approachable demeanor toward the public.
Several standout trainees received honors for their excellence: Tinku Mahananda and Narendra Sahu excelled in indoor subjects, while Ahuti Agnikar Palai and Santosh Kesi led in outdoor disciplines. Furthermore, Sumit Thapa was crowned 'Best Trainee', with Ahuti Agnikar Palei, Subhrajit Panda, and Himanshu Bag honored as overall best trainees.
Senior officials, including ADG (SAP) Rajesh Kumar, IGP (SAP) Satish Kumar Gajbhiye, and BTI Commandant Prasad Tamang, graced the ceremony alongside proud family members.
