The desperate search for Ajit Kuanr, a young father from Bhograi, Balasore, has reached a breaking point. Driven by poverty, Ajit left his village 18 days ago to work at a poultry farm in the Jamkiri area of Purulia, West Bengal, lured by a local labor contractor.

Since his departure, his phone has remained unreachable, leaving his wife, elderly mother, and three minor daughters in a state of agonizing uncertainty.

Exhausted after a fruitless six-day search across West Bengal’s Bankura district, the family has returned home empty-handed.

Ajit’s wife, Piklu, has filed a formal complaint against the contractor, Bapi Sahu, while his mother, Tulsi Kuanr, has approached both the Chandaneshwar and Jamkiri police stations for help.

Frustrated by the lack of progress and silence from the authorities, villagers joined the grief-stricken family at the police station to demand immediate action.

As the days pass without a trace, the community is calling for a high-level investigation into the middleman and Ajit's mysterious disappearance.
