In a decisive "one bullet, two targets" operation, Bargarh Rural Police dismantled an illegal drug and prostitution ring operating out of Jaya Durga Dhaba in Dhangar. Acting on a tip-off, a special team conducted a surprise raid, uncovering a major criminal hub hidden behind the eatery's facade.
The operation led to the arrest of five individuals, including the dhaba owner, Atharam Panda, and his wife, Pranati Panda, along with three customers. Police successfully rescued a young woman from the premises and seized:
263 liters of foreign liquor
₹26,260 in cash
Two motorcycles and various incriminating materials.
All accused have been forwarded to court as investigations continue to identify further links in this organized racket. The crackdown sends a clear message against the misuse of commercial spaces for illicit trafficking in the region.
