On the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi honored the state’s agrarian roots at the Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI), Cuttack. Marking the start of the farming season, the CM performed the traditional Akhi Muthi ritual, plowing the land and offering prayers to Mother Earth and Goddess Lakshmi for a bountiful harvest.
Joined by Deputy CM and Agriculture Minister K.V. Singh Deo, the event also served as the State-Level Farmers' Day. In a major boost to the agricultural community, the Chief Minister distributed Kisan Cards to eligible farmers among a gathering of over 5,000 participants.
This blend of sacred tradition and government support has doubled the joy of Odia farmers. By prioritizing farmer welfare on this holy day, the state reinforces the message that the prosperity of Odisha begins in its golden fields.
