On the holy occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi revitalized Odisha’s agricultural sector by distributing ₹838.48 crore under the CM Kisan scheme. During the state-level Farmers' Day at CRRI, Cuttack, the funds were directly transferred to over 41.68 lakh beneficiaries, including small, marginal, and landless farmers.
The Chief Minister also launched the innovative "Seeds on Wheels" program. This "Ama Bihan Rath" initiative provides high-quality rice seeds in convenient 5kg packets at the panchayat level, starting across 10 districts.
Complementing these efforts, Deputy CM Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo urged farmers to embrace transparency. He advised purchasing fertilizers only from authorized vendors using official verification (Aadhaar/OTP) and insisting on POS-generated receipts. This "clean campaign" aims to ensure fair pricing and soil health through balanced fertilizer use.
From the symbolic Akhi Muthi ceremony to the deployment of mobile seed centers, the state government has reaffirmed its commitment to making farming more profitable, accessible, and sustainable for the backbone of Odisha's economy.
