Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that his recent UAE visit has unlocked a massive ₹2,43,162 crore in investment proposals, promising over 6 lakh direct jobs for the state's youth.
Speaking at the Bhubaneswar airport upon his return, Majhi emphasized that securing dignified employment for local youth on their native soil remains the government's primary goal.
Between September 8 and 12, Majhi, accompanied by cabinet ministers and senior officials, held 52 business meetings and signed 8 MoUs across Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
High-level talks with UAE’s Economy Minister and global industry leaders yielded 16 investment intents, notably a major partnership with the Adani Group and IHC for 14 new projects, including integrated aluminium units in Rayagada and Sundargarh.
These latest figures push Odisha's total investment proposals past ₹22.5 lakh crore. Highlighting ongoing skill-development initiatives to make youth employment-ready, Majhi stressed that the administration's immediate priority is fast-tracking these projects into production to build a $500 billion economy by 2036.
Cabinet colleagues and lawmakers warmly felicitated the Chief Minister upon his arrival.
