In a major relief for postgraduate aspirants, the Higher Education Department has extended the deadline for the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) 2026. Students now have until March 22, 2026, at 11:45 PM to submit their Common Application Forms (CAF) via the SAMS portal.
The previous deadline of March 18 was pushed back to protect the "future prospects" of students who faced delays. CPET remains the mandatory gateway for PG admissions for the 2026-27 academic year, with final selections strictly based on entrance exam performance.
This extension is part of a broader strategy to streamline the academic calendar, with the department aiming to kick off PG classes by July 10, 2026. Officials have urged candidates to utilize this grace period immediately to avoid last-minute technical glitches.
The move has been widely welcomed by thousands of applicants across Odisha, ensuring no deserving student is left behind due to a missed cutoff.
