In a dramatic operation, the Tigiria Police apprehended a primary school teacher for his alleged involvement in a brutal murder. The accused, Prashant Nayak, an educator at Gokarnakhal Primary School, had been evading justice since the killing of a three-year-old boy in April 2023.
The case dates back to Holi 2023, when the child, identified as the son of Katara gang leader Vishwanath, was killed. Nayak, named as the primary suspect, fled the area and remained in hiding for nearly two years.
Believing the heat had died down, Nayak recently returned to his teaching post. Acting on a secret tip-off, police officers disguised themselves to infiltrate the school premises.
He was taken into custody mid-lesson, ending his run as a fugitive. The arrest has sent shockwaves through the local community, as authorities continue their investigation into the motive behind the tragic crime.
