In a powerful disclosure at the State Assembly, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi revealed that 230 government officials have been booked for corruption between April 2025 and March 2026.

The list of accused includes 52 Class-I and 41 Class-II officers, signaling that high-ranking positions provide no immunity from the law.

The state’s anti-corruption drive has shown swift results, with trials completed for 206 cases within the year. This resulted in 102 convictions and the immediate dismissal of 23 employees from service.

The financial scale of these crimes is staggering. Vigilance raids led to the seizure of over ₹10.27 crore in cash, while the government confiscated movable and immovable properties worth ₹4.76 crore in disproportionate assets cases.

While the Chief Minister’s written reply to MLA Vijay Kumar Dalabehera highlights the government’s stern stance, the sheer volume of cases underscores the persistent challenge of deep-rooted corruption within the administrative machinery.
